The price of transport to Ireland does not come out of nowhere — it is made up of a few clear elements. Once you understand them, it is easier to choose the pallet, the batch and the date so that you pay less. Below we explain how we work the rate out and what really affects it.
You pay per pallet space, not per item
The basis for charging is the pallet space — a footprint of 120×80 cm (a EURO pallet) taken up by your load. We do not charge "per item" or by gross weight the way courier parcels do. That is how we price every pallet transport to Ireland. For you it means two things:
- No logistics minimum — you can send a single pallet.
- Predictability — you know how many spaces you take, so you know what you will pay.
How many spaces a load takes is decided by the pallet type, the weight (up to 1000 kg as standard) and the height. That is why compact, well-packed pallets are cheaper — we cover this in the guide on how to pack a pallet.
Three delivery zones in Ireland
The second element of the price is the zone, because reaching an address in Dublin and one in west Kerry cost differently. We distinguish three zones:
- Zone 1 — Dublin and surroundings: the densest route, the lowest surcharges.
- Zone 2 — most of Ireland: standard nationwide coverage.
- Zone 3 — difficult regions: including Donegal, Kerry and Mayo — a longer run, a higher surcharge.
We assign the zone automatically from the recipient's eircode and confirm the price by email before collection — no surprises on the invoice.
The bigger the batch, the lower the rate per space
The unit rate per pallet space falls as the number of spaces grows. A single pallet costs the most per space; with several or a dozen the unit price is lower, until we reach a full truck (FTL), which we charge as a whole. If you ship regularly, it is worth considering combining shipments — the difference in cost can be significant.
What else affects the price
- Non-standard dimensions and weight — pallets taller than standard or heavier than 1000 kg are quoted individually.
- Sensitive loads (windows, glass) — charged per space, with special securing; details under the window transport service.
- The return direction — on the IE → PL route we often have spare capacity, so return loads can be noticeably cheaper.
Gross prices, with a VAT invoice
All rates in the price list are quoted gross — on the English site in euro — with 23% VAT included. For every order we issue a Polish VAT invoice, and for regular cooperation we agree discounts and payment terms. The load is covered by carrier liability insurance up to €200,000 for the whole route.
The takeaway: price = pallet type and how well it is filled × zone, with tapered rates on bigger batches. It is all public, so instead of waiting for a forwarder's quote you can work the rate out yourself in the calculator and order right away.
