Delivery, timing and route
How long does delivery from Poland to Ireland take?
On average 4–6 business days — faster than most groupage forwarders. Trucks run every week, so you don't wait for a load to be filled, and we confirm the date by email straight away, so you can give your customer a firm date.
How often do your trucks run?
Every week, in both directions. You get a predictable schedule to plan your sales and the promises you make to your recipients around — no "we'll call when the truck fills up".
Do you also run Ireland → Poland?
Yes — and on the way back from Ireland we have free capacity, so on the
IE → PL leg you pay less. Ideal if you import goods or collect returns. See
return loads.
When will I know the exact collection date?
Right after you order — we confirm the specific collection day and estimated delivery by email, so you can give your customer a date we'll keep.
Can I request a specific delivery day?
Yes, we do our best to fit in. Give us your preferred date and we'll agree a realistic day — so you don't have to explain a delay to your customer later.
What if the recipient isn't available in the pre-advised window?
We pre-advise ahead of time (in the morning and just before arrival), so the recipient has time to get ready. If they're still not there — we call and arrange a new time, without involving you.
Do you deliver at weekends?
Normally on business days, but we'll arrange urgent deadlines individually. Tell us when you need it and we'll find a solution.
Do you cover the whole of Ireland?
Yes — from Dublin to the hard-to-reach regions (Donegal, Kerry, Mayo). Your customer gets the goods to the door, wherever in Ireland they are.
Prices, zones and discounts
How do you work out the pallet price?
Simply and instantly: in the
calculator you enter the pallet, height, weight and zone — and you get the price in 10 seconds.
The same price you'll see on the invoice.
What do the zones S1, S2 and S3 mean?
S1 Dublin, S2 most of the country, S3 hard-to-reach regions. Zones mean you pay in line with the route — not an averaged, inflated "just in case" rate.
How do I know which zone my recipient is in?
You don't need to know — just give us the eircode, we'll pick the zone and confirm the price before collection. No guesswork and no risk of a surcharge.
Is the calculator price the final price?
Yes — no asterisks and no hidden surcharges. The calculator price = the invoice price, so you can safely build it into your quote and not lose your margin.
Are there any surcharges?
The rate covers address-to-address transport with a tail-lift. Anything unusual (severely restricted access, oversized) we confirm up front — we'll never surprise you on the invoice.
Is it cheaper with more pallets?
Yes. From 3 pallets to the same address: −5%, −8%, −10%, and for windows and part loads the per-space rate drops as the batch grows. The more you send, the more you earn on transport.
What currency are your prices in?
In Polish zloty (PLN) including 23% VAT. For Irish companies with a valid VAT number we apply the reverse charge — cleanly and in line with the rules.
Does ongoing cooperation mean better rates?
Definitely. Regular volume =
fixed contract rates, discounts and deferred payment terms — a predictable cost instead of spot quotes. Easiest with a
business account (−10%).
What we carry and how — pallets, windows, furniture
Which pallet sizes do you handle?
As standard EURO 120×80, 120×100 and 120×120 cm — and we'll still carry non-standard ones after a quick quote. We won't turn you away.
What is the maximum pallet weight and height?
Up to 1000 kg per pallet space, height up to 210 cm calculated automatically. We carry heavier and taller loads too — just a quick quote is enough.
How do you transport windows?
On
pallets, wrapped and strapped — they travel as a single block, no scratches. It's our daily bread: we carry windows every week. See
window transport.
Why do you charge windows per pallet space, not per unit?
Because it works out cheaper for you: the bigger the batch, the lower the per-space rate — instead of multiplying the cost by every single unit.
How do you transport furniture?
Our own fleet, no transhipment — the same truck from collection to delivery. Less handling = fewer damages and fewer complaints from your customer. See
furniture transport.
Is furniture transhipped anywhere?
No. We skip third-party terminals — your goods don't circulate around sorting hubs, they take the shortest route to the recipient.
I have a non-standard pallet size — can you carry it?
Yes — we'll carry any size, non-standard ones we price individually. Describe what you have and we'll find a way and a price.
Can I send something that isn't a pallet?
No problem — loose furniture, long packages, machinery, single items. Describe it in the
quote form and we'll come back with specifics.
Collection and packing
Will you collect the goods if I don't have a loading dock?
Yes — tail-lift trucks will collect the pallet from ground level. You don't need a dock or a forklift, we have the equipment.
How should I prepare a pallet for shipping?
Pack and wrap it, stack it stably and strap it. For fragile goods add edge protectors — and if you're unsure, we'll advise how to secure it so it arrives intact.
Do you pack the goods for me?
The goods are prepared by the sender, but for unusual loads we'll advise how to secure them — call before shipping and we'll help.
Do you collect from a business or home address?
Yes — address to address: we collect at your address and deliver to the customer's address. You transport nothing.
Can I bring the goods to your depot myself?
You can drop the goods off at our depot in Września — sometimes it lowers the cost. Tell us what suits you and we'll adapt.
I ship oversized cargo — is it possible?
Often yes — we'll assess the dimensions and securing. Describe the load and we'll tell you straight whether we can and for how much, no beating around the bush.
FTL, refrigerated and unusual loads
What is FTL?
A full truck just for you — no groupage and no transhipment. The fastest and safest option for a large or urgent load.
Do you have refrigerated trailers?
Yes, we also carry at controlled temperature. Give us your requirements (temperature range, type of goods) and we'll match the right truck.
Can you carry a machine or an oversized load?
Yes — we assess the securing and route individually. Start with the
FTL quote form and we'll call back with specifics.
Why is there no FTL price in the calculator?
Because a fair full-truck rate can't be guessed. We'd rather give you a real price after a short description than a number "off the top of our head" that would change anyway.
How fast will I get an FTL quote?
Usually within 24 business hours — quickly, so you can make a decision and get the transport moving.
Invoices, payments and VAT
What does the invoice look like?
A Polish VAT invoice made out to your company, from our company Express Trucks Sp. z o.o. — a clean record for your accounting and costs.
Why do you need a tax ID (NIP)?
To issue a VAT invoice to your company — it's standard for B2B cooperation and keeps the paperwork in order.
How and when do I pay?
By bank transfer. One-off at the time of order, or with deferred terms for ongoing cooperation — whichever suits you financially.
I'm an Irish company — how about VAT?
With a valid VAT number we apply the reverse charge — no double VAT, in line with the rules. We verify the number for you.
Do you issue a pro forma invoice?
Yes — handy for internal cost approval or prepayment. We'll issue one on request.
With ongoing cooperation, can I have deferred payment terms?
Yes — for regular volume we agree individual payment terms and discounts, so you can plan your budget more easily.
Insurance, documents and claims
Is the cargo insured?
Yes — carrier liability up to €200,000 for the whole route. You ship with peace of mind.
What does the carrier liability cover include?
The carrier's liability for the cargo in transit, within the scope of the policy. That's concrete protection, not promises — we'll show the documents on request.
Which documents do I get for the transport?
A VAT invoice, a CMR consignment note, and after delivery a proof of delivery (POD) — a full trail for you and your accounting.
What do I do if the goods arrive damaged?
Report it as soon as possible, ideally with photos, via the
contact form. We'll handle the claim and
won't leave you to deal with the problem alone.
Can I add extra insurance for a particularly valuable load?
Have a valuable load? Write to us before shipping — we'll set the cover so the value is protected.
Ordering, tracking and account
How do I place an order?
Work it out in the
calculator and order online in a few minutes —
no emails back and forth. FTL and unusual loads via the
quote form.
How do I track a shipment?
By shipment number in
tracking, plus SMS/email notifications at every stage —
you and your customer know where the goods are.
Does my customer in Ireland get notifications?
Yes — we keep your recipient informed: SMS and email on the morning of the delivery day with a time slot, and again just before arrival. Fewer calls to you, a better image with your customer.
Why set up a business account?
An account =
−10% on every transport, shipment history and ordering in 2 clicks. Real savings on regular shipments —
open an account.
