Polish joinery manufacturers and builders merchants sell to the island more and more often — and PVC and aluminium windows are among the most frequent loads we carry on the Poland ⇄ Ireland route. In this post we show what safe window transport looks like: from packing, through the way it is charged, to the delivery time.
Why windows travel on a pallet
Windows standing loose shift, rub against each other and against the sides — the most common cause of scratches and cracks. A pallet solves that: windows stood upright, interleaved, wrapped in film and strapped to a stable base travel as a single block, with no movement on bends or under braking.
It also lets us stack and secure them in the trailer without risk, and loading and unloading go faster — which translates into a lower cost and shorter handling time.
You pay per pallet space, not per item
This is the most important difference from classic forwarding. We do not count windows "per item" — we count the pallet spaces (120×80 cm) the load actually takes up. The bigger the batch, the lower the rate per space, all the way to a full truck (FTL).
- A small batch? You can send a single pallet of windows — with no logistics minimum.
- A larger order? The unit rate falls as the number of spaces grows.
- A whole container of windows from the factory? We treat it as FTL — a full vehicle to yourself.
You can work out the exact price for your batch in the window calculator in the price list — you give the width and the number of spaces, and you get the rate you will later see on the invoice.
Zones and delivery time
The price also depends on where in Ireland the load is going. We distinguish three zones: Dublin and surroundings, most of Ireland and difficult regions (including Donegal, Kerry and Mayo). We assign the zone from the recipient's eircode and confirm the price by email before collection.
The trucks run every week, in both directions, and the average delivery time is 4–6 business days. We inform the recipient by SMS and email at every stage, and on the delivery day they get a time slot — you do not have to pass anything on.
What else is worth knowing
- Collection without a loading dock — we run tail-lift vehicles, so we take pallets from ground level: from a factory, a warehouse or a yard.
- Carrier liability cover up to €200,000 — the load is covered by the policy for the whole route.
- A Polish VAT invoice — issued to your company; for regular cooperation we agree discounts and payment terms.
The takeaway: windows can be moved from Poland to Ireland safely and without overpaying — provided they travel on a pallet, properly secured, and are charged per space rather than per item. That is exactly how we carry them.
